What is Acef and what is it used for? The active substance in Aksef is cefuroxime (such as cefuroxime acetyl), which belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporins. Cefuroxime is an antibiotic that destroys bacteria that cause infections. Acef is used to treat the following infections:
the throat the sinuses the middle ear lungs or breasts urinary tract skin and soft tissues treatment of Lyme disease (an infection that is spread by parasites called ticks)
What does Aksef contain?
The active substance is cefuroxime. Each film-coated tablet contains cefuroxime acetyl equivalent to 500 mg cefuroxime.
