What is TOBREX eye drops and what it is used for
TOBREX eye drops are from a group of medicines called anti-inflammatory. The anti-inflammatory group includes antibiotics (tobramycin in this case) that are effective against a wide range of micro-organisms that can infect the eye (s).
TOBREX eye drops are intended for the treatment of external bacterial infections of the eye (s) and its structures caused by tobramycin-susceptible bacteria in adults and children over 1 years of age.
TOBREX eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride
The preservative in TOBREX eye drops (benzalkonium chloride) can cause eye irritation and is also known to discolour soft contact lenses.
Wearing contact lenses are not recommended during treatment of eye infection. If you are allowed to wear contact lenses, you should remove them before using this medicine and wait at least 15 minutes before putting the lenses back.
3. How to use TOBREX eye drops?
Always use TOBREX eye drops exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
If the protective ring is loose after removing the cap, remove it before use. Use TOBREX only for your eyes.
