What is Doxycycline STADA and what it is used for

Doxycycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline group.

Doxycycline is used to treat:

Respiratory and ear infections, nose and throat:
Exacerbated chronic bronchitis
Sinusitis

Some forms of pneumonia caused by mycoplasma, rickettsia or chlamydia
Treatment of urogenital infections

Urethritis caused by chlamydia or Ureaplasma urealyticum
Prostatitis
Uncomplicated gonorrhea (especially in the presence of chlamydial infection)
Genital infections in women
Syphilis in patients allergic to penicillins
Urinary tract infections (only after bacteriological test demonstrated sensitivity to doxycycline)
Treatment of infections of the gastrointestinal tract

Cholera
Yersinia or Campylobacter infections
Shigellosis (dysentery) (only after proving sensitivity to doxycycline)
Out-of-hospital treatment for biliary tract infections
Treatment of:

Skin infections, including severe acne or rosacea
Conjunctivitis infections caused by chlamydia (chlamydial conjunctivitis) or trachoma (conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis)
Borreiia Infections (eg Erythema chronicum migrans or Lyme disease) – tick bite infections
Rare infections, including brucellosis, ornithosis, bartellosis, listeriosis, rickettsioses, melioidoses, cholera, inguinal granuloma
Malabsorption syndrome (digestive disorders), i. E. tropical Sprue and Whipple’s disease.
