What Finlepsin is and what it is used for
Each Finlepsin tablet contains 200 mg of carbamazepine. Finlepsin belongs to the group of anti-epileptic medicinal products.
Finlepsin is used to treat:
epilepsy: partial onset with complex symptoms (psychomotor attacks); partial seizures with elemental symptomatology (simple focal seizures); generalized tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal); secondary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, generalized tonic-clonic seizures during sleep; mixed forms of epilepsy.
progressive onset of facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia)
trigeminal neuralgia
idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia
painful conditions in diabetic neuropathy
non-epileptic seizures in multiple sclerosis, such as trigeminal neuralgia, tonic spasms, paroxysmal dysarthria and ataxia, paroxysmal paraesthesia, and pain attacks.
acute mania and supportive treatment in bipolar afferent disorders for the prevention or reduction of relapses.
prevention of seizures in alcohol withdrawal *.
* In this indication Finlepsin 200 mg tablets should only be administered at steady state.
What Finlepsin contains
The active substance is carbamazepine. Each tablet contains 200 mg of carbamazepine.
The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose gelatin croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate.
What Finlepsin looks like and contents of the pack
Finlepsin is available in packs of 50 tablets placed in a carton with a leaflet for the patient.
