What is Zinat and what it is used for?
Zinate is an antibiotic that is used in adults and children. It acts by destroying bacteria that cause infections. It belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporins.
Zinat is used to treat infections of:
• throat
• sinuses
• middle ear
• the lungs or chest
• urinary tract
• Skin and soft tissues.
Zinat can also be used for:
• treatment of Lyme disease (an infection that spreads from parasites called ticks
Your doctor may investigate the type of bacteria that cause your infection and monitor during treatment if the bacteria are sensitive to Zinat.
What contains Zinat
The active substance is cefuroxime in the form of cefuroxime axetil. Each tablet contains 250 mg or 500 mg cefuroxime.
The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, hydrogenated vegetable oil, colloidal silicon dioxide, propylene glycol, hypromellose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propylparahydroxybenzoate, and whitewash.
What Zinat looks like and what the package contains
Zinate 250 mg tablets are white to off-white in color, marked “GXES7” on one side. Zinat 500 mg tablets are white to off-white in color, marked “GXEG2” on one side. The tablets are supplied in blister packs containing 10 film-coated tablets.
