What Tubocin is and what it is used for
The active substance in Tubocin capsules is the antibiotic rifampicin. It acts on the bacteria that cause tuberculosis and other common diseases in humans, suppressing the action of enzymes (enzymes) in bacterial cells and thus disrupting their development and division.
Tubocin is used to treat:
– Tuberculosis of the lungs, bones, skin, stomach, intestines and other organs;
– Leprosy (leprosy) (a chronic infectious disease caused by bacteria similar to those causing tuberculosis);
– Brucellosis (an infectious disease that is transmitted to humans by diseased animals upon contact with them or consumption of contaminated milk or meat);
– Severe infections caused by staphylococci, enterococci or other common microorganisms (eg H. influenzae);
Tubocin is also used to prevent tuberculosis in patients with a positive tuberculin skin reaction, in patients with a negative tuberculin skin reaction, or with an immune deficiency who are in contact with tuberculous bacteria.
Tubocin is suitable for the prevention of meningococcal meningitis (inflammation of the membranes of the brain caused by a specific bacterium).
