Oxycodone Actavis prolonged-release tablets – a safe method for pain relief for patients with chronic pain that can only be affected by opioid analgesics; a reliable tool that has proven effective in improving the quality of life of cancer patients.
WHAT IS Oxycodone AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
OxyContin belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics or painkillers. He is an opioid analgesic, prescribed strictly on a special medical prescription, given on special indications.
OxyContin tablets are used to relieve moderate and severe pain.
HOW TO TAKE Oxycodone?
Always take OxyContin exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
On the packaging of the medicine your pharmacist has written how many tablets you should take and how often. Do not take more tablets than those shown on the pack!
Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not break them or break them! You must take the tablets every 12 hours. For example, if you take a tablet at 8 o’clock in the morning, you should take the next tablet at 8 o’clock in the evening.
In order to avoid the prolonged effect of prolonged effect, prolonged-release tablets should be taken whole »without being broken, chewed or crushed. Taking broken, chewed or crushed tablets leads to
to a more rapid release and to the absorption of a potentially lethal dose of the active substance.
OxyContin is for oral use only (the tablets are swallowed whole). It should not be given in the form of injections of reconstituted tablets (injection into blood vessels), since talc contained in the tablets can cause tissue destruction at the injection site (tissue necrosis) to changes in lung tissue ( pulmonary granuloma) as well as other severe and potentially life-threatening side effects.
If you take more OxyContin than you need, or if someone accidentally swallows all the tablets, call your doctor or hospital immediately.
Specific reactions may include: pupillary pupils (myosis), respiratory depression (hypoventilation), insomnia, decreased skeletal muscle tone, and decreased blood pressure. In severe cases, the following may occur: circulatory collapse, paralysis (stupor), loss of consciousness (coma), slow heart rate (bradycardia), and water retention in the lungs (non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema). The abuse of high doses of potent opioids, such as oxycodone, can have lethal effects. When using OxyCodone, never take actions that require a high degree of concentration, such as driving.
If you forget to take OxyContin, take the immediately missed tablet unless the time of taking the next tablet is near. Then continue every 12 hours.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
