What is Letrocon and how it works
Letrocone contains an active substance called letrozole. It belongs to a group of medicines called aromatase inhibitors. It is used for hormonal (or endocrine) treatment of breast cancer. Breast cancer tumor growth is often stimulated by estrogens, which are female sex hormones. Letrocone reduces the amount of estrogens by blocking the enzyme (aromatase) involved in their formation, and thus may block the growth of breast cancer that needs estrogens for its growth. As a result, tumor cells slow or stop their growth and / or spread to other parts of the body.

What is Letrocon used for
Letrocone is used to treat breast cancer in women who have undergone menopause, ie. stopping menstruation.
Used to prevent cancer from recurring. It can be used as the first treatment before breast cancer surgery, if immediate surgery is inappropriate. It can be used as the first treatment after breast cancer surgery or after five years of tamoxifen treatment. Letrocon is also used to prevent the spread of the tumor to other parts of the body in advanced breast cancer.
