What Clacid SR is and what it is used for
Klacid SR is an antibiotic belonging to the group of so-called macrolide antibiotics. Macrolide antibiotics are drugs that suppress or stop the development of certain microorganisms (bacteria) that cause various infections.
Clacid SR is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to it. This includes:
Lower respiratory tract infections, such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
Upper respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis and pharyngitis.
Skin and soft tissue infections such as folliculitis, cellulitis and erysipelas.
Odontogenic infections
As with other antibiotics, before prescribing Klacid SR, your doctor will take into account the frequency of resistance (the resistance of microorganisms to the given antibiotic) and the associated antibiotic prescribing recommendations.
