What Gentamicin Sopharma is and what it is used for
Gentamicin Sopharma solution for injection contains the active substance gentamicin, which refers to the antimicrobial agents of the aminoglycoside family. It has antimicrobial action against a large number of different infections. Gentamicin Sopharma solution for injection is used to treat severe infections such as: bacterial sepsis (a disease in which bacteria multiply in the blood and the lymphatic system), endocarditis; central nervous system infections, infections in patients with suppressed immune system or with tumors; Infections during burning; kidney infections and / or urinary tract infections, eardrum-throat infections, respiratory tract infections; the gut, abdominal cavity (including bile and bile ducts); infections of skin and soft tissues, bones and joints; brucellosis, felinosis (feline scarring disease), granuloma inguinal, listeriosis, salmonellosis, shygelosis.
It is used for the prevention of endocarditis, surgical infections in patients with impaired immune protection, and intensive care patients.
Packaging content and additional information
The active substance is gentamicin sulphate, eq. of 10 mg of gentamicin in 1 ml of solution for injection.
The other ingredients are: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218); propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216); disodium edetate; sodium sulphite, anhydrous (E221); sulfuric acid solution (1 mol / l); water for injections.

Colorless to pale yellow solution.
Ampoules of colorless glass 1 st hydrolytic grade, 1 ml capacity, with mark for opening the ampoule – color point / ring.
10 ampoules in a PVC foil blister, 1 or 10 blisters in a cardboard box, together with a leaflet.
