What Flosterone is and what it is used for
What is Flosterone?
Flosterone contains the active substance betamethasone, which is a synthetic corticosteroid. It has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects and prevents hypersensitivity reactions. Betamethasone sodium phosphate is an easily soluble compound, quickly absorbed into tissues and has a rapid effect. Betamethasone dipropionate has a long-lasting effect due to slower absorption. The combination of the two compounds allows for a quick and lasting effect. Depending on the route of administration (intra-articular, intralesional, intradermal, exceptionally intramuscular), local or systemic therapeutic effects are obtained.
What is Flosterone used for?
Flosterone suspension for injection (injection) is prescribed to patients who have been shown primarily local, and only exceptionally, systemic corticosteroid therapy.
Local therapy
Flosterone is prescribed intra-articular and carotid for inflammatory rheumatic diseases, intra-articularly – for degenerative rheumatic diseases, especially in the presence of inflammation of the synovial sheath (it is not prescribed for hip arthrosis), extra-rheumatic fever, some skin conditions, other conduction disorders treatment has no effective attitude to change.
Systemic treatment
Systemic action of Flosterone is used in some severe allergic diseases (seasonal or chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa, hypersensitivity reactions).
