Helex SR is available in modified release tablet form.

It is an anxiolytic (anti-anxiety agent). It has hypno-sedative, anticonvulsant, central muscle relaxant properties. The action is associated with increased neuronal inhibition of nerve endings, in which gamma-aminobutyric acid acts as a mediator.

Treatment should be as short as possible. The maximum duration is 12 weeks.

The optimal dose is based on the severity of the symptoms, the individual response. Minimum doses should be prescribed to control symptoms. Dose adjustment is made no more than once a month.

To stop treatment, reduce the dose gradually (no more than 0.5 mg within 3 days).
