What Betaserc is and what it is used for The active substance in this medicine is betahistine. It is thought to increase blood flow to the inner ear, leading to a decrease in pressure, a decrease in strength and frequency of attacks of vertigo; reduces ear noise; slows or stops hearing loss, especially when timely treatment is undertaken.
Betaserc is used to treat Meniere’s disease with the following signs:
feeling dizzy (dizziness), often accompanied by nausea and vomiting tinnitus hearing loss or hearing difficulties. Feeling dizzy occurs when the part of the inner ear that controls the balance is not working properly (the so-called vestibular vertigo).
