What is Azax and what is it used for?

Azax contains the drug azithromycin, which belongs to a new class of macrolide antibiotics, called azalides.
Azac is an antibiotic with a broad antibacterial spectrum that works effectively against most bacterial strains. It suppresses protein synthesis in the bacterial cell wall and thus also the ability of bacteria to grow and multiply.
Azax is indicated for the treatment of patients with infections caused by azithromycin sensitive microorganisms: Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic cocci and bacteria, anaerobic microorganisms, intracellular and clinically atypical microorganisms:

• Upper respiratory tract infections: bacterial pharyngitis (acute inflammation of the mucous membrane of the swallow), tonsillitis (tonsillitis), sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) and inflammation of the middle ear

• Infections of the lower respiratory tract: inflammation of the bronchi and lungs

• Infections of the skin and soft tissues: erythema chronica migraine (first stage Lyme disease – infection after bite from infected tick), erysipelas (red wind – acute infectious disease of the skin caused by streptococcal infection), impetigo (acute infectious disease (bacterial skin infection, most commonly caused by staphylococci or streptococci, with a major symptom of inflammation), acne vulgaris

• Sexually transmitted diseases: uncomplicated urethritis (inflammation of the urethra caused by microorganisms, manifesting with itching, burning, pain during urination), cervicitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the uterine cervix) caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum and Neisseria gonorrhoeae .
