WHAT KETOTIFEN SOPHARMA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED

Ketotifen Sopharma belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines (anti-allergic). It prevents the release of histamine and other substances that are formed in the body in allergies. Self-administered, it does not affect asthmatic attacks. With prolonged treatment, it prevents the onset of seizures, reducing their duration and severity, in some cases completely disappearing.
It is used as an adjunct in the long-term treatment of mild atopic (allergic) bronchial asthma; symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions, incl. allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa) and conjunctivitis (inflammation of the lining of the eye).
Ketotifen Sopharma has no effect in asthmatic attacks.
